Olympic Boulevarde

These landmark lighting towers are in the Olympic Boulevarde at the venue for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Each of the 19 towers has 80 solar laminates feeding into the grid. In keeping with the blue theme, we (then at BP Solar)

used partially transparent blue backing material and dark blue solar cells. Many technical issues were tackled, including

compliance with overhead glazing codes.
